Congrats Braden... and Chris

Braden's soccer team won first place in their division. Congratulations to all these cute boys. BUT, the most amazing thing happened... seriously I am still stunned. Braden's coach emailed everyone and asked if we wanted to have a party or just award the medals to the boys in practice. Of course being the party girl I am, I wrote back and said, "Let's have a party and volunteered my in-laws house or that I would schedule the church." Later that night I told Chris and he just nodded his head like usual and we went to bed. Then, to my amazement, the next day I got an email from Chris sent to the coach and me that gave an idea for a soccer party. He said "Let's go to Surf and Swim. I called Surf and Swim and they said that Wednesday is dollar night and that we could bring in our own food and treats." WOW! Chris has never planned anything for our family or even worried about it. He just waits for me to plan. So, I praised him a lot and am now hoping that Chris will want to plan more things in the future... I better not hold my breath. Oh, I almost forgot... the coach choose to go to Surf and Swim and the party was a great success.

I am so proud of McKenzie for choosing to get baptized. The gospel means everything to me in my life and I know that McKenzie will be blessed by it also. I am so greateful for family and friends that supported us on this day. We are so lucky to have each of you in our lives.

McKenzie's 8th Birthday

I think McKenzie is the luckiest girl ever. She got to have her birthday in a trailor, camping in the beautiful fall colors! She had her favorite birthday breakfast- french toast, eggs, bacon, donuts, peaches and apple juice. She then was able to play in a tent with all her siblings, make a fire, ride bikes, canoe, and fish. All of her siblings thought she was lucky because she didn't have to clean up after camping. That night, McKenzie had pizza and went to Boondocks with her Dad.

Camping over UEA

We camped at Payson Lake Campground on October 22nd. The weather was fabulous and we had a great time. We rode bikes, canoed, played with the Mecham kids, played games and did art projects.
This is a fun campground because you can ride bikes around the lake and still be able to see those in the canoe.

A story never to be forgotten

Every camping trip needs a story that will never be forgotten, right? How about tipping a canoe in the middle of October!

Great Job Braden. He received his Arrow of Light and all of the Webelos pins except one. Braden is very driven and I am so grateful for that. Keep up the good work.

Katelyn's 6th Birthday

Katelyn turned 6. She got a bike from her Dad and Mom. She also got spoiled from her other famly and friends. For her birthday she went to Boondocks with Grandma Orme and had birthday breakfast.
Katelyn also had her first friend birthday party. She wanted a "gum party". We made gum necklaces, had a gum cake, played games, ate dinner and cake and ice cream, watched a movie and did a treasure hunt.
Katelyn wanted a "late night"and she got it. One of the girls said, when I was taking her home, "I bet my mom and dad are already sleeping. This is the latest I have ever stayed up."

MARY POPPINS

MARY POPPINS here we come! Lucky Aubrielle and McKenzie got to have facials, manicures, pedicures and a fancy luncheon with their grandma, aunts and cousins. Then off to the Broadway we went. I was so completely amazed at the magic on the stage. How did she pull all of that out of her purse?  It was so amazing, we are going to do it again when Beauty and the Beast come. Thank you mom for doing this for us.

Botulism? How did she get that?

Taylor was diagnosed with botulism after being in Davis Hospital for 5 days and then transferred by ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital. There she had an nasaljejunum tube placed and was fed by that until she received her strength back.
Taylor was in Primary's for 16 days and was a miracle baby. On Sunday, she received her "Baby BIG" immune globulin (which cost our insurance company $40,000- thank you IHC) and then progressively got better. She may hold the record for the fastest baby to get better with botulism from Primary's. I know we were blessed by our Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for the priesthood in my life and grateful for the strength the gospel gives our family.

THANK YOU to all that help throughout these 3 weeks. We are so blessed to have so much support from family and friends. THANK YOU again and again.

Hintze Family Reunion

The Hintze Reunion! What a busy, fun week. On Monday, we rode a train into SLC, visited temple square and the church owned buildings, played in the water at gateway, had FHE, and watched an outdoor movie. Tuesday we went boating at Pineview Resivoir.
Wednesday we went to Lagoon. Thursday we ran a 5K race, swam at Oakridge Country Club and had a family history meeting. Friday the girls had a tea party while the boys golfed. That night, we went to Jolyn's house for an extended Hintze Family Reunion. Saturday we went to Logan for a Poole Family Reunion. Sunday was Tyson's Homecoming.
Lots of fun memories but not many pictures. Why do I not use my camera more?

Braden's 11th Birthday

Braden's 11th birthday was a hit. He had all of his friends over and we drove to Sandy Fun Center where he and his friends were able to do unlimited activities- waterpark, laser tag, roller skating, playing on the bounce houses, playing in the jungle and the blast zone.
They also had Burger King hamburgers, chips, pop, watermelon, cake and ice cream.
I had to drag those boys out of there. Classic Fun Center- what a way to party!!

Taylor in the hospital

While camping with our cute neighbors in Granite Flats, Taylor got really sick. At night, I was listening to her breathing and she had a respiratory rate of 80 bpm (normal 40-60 bpm). When we got her to the ER the next day, her saturations were 80% on room air. She was admitted to Riverton Hospital for Metapneumo virus. She stayed there for 4 days and went home on oxygen.

Diamond Fork Hot Springs

Over the first weekend in July, we enjoyed camping with the Cardon's and the Parkin's at Diamond Fork campground. It was a fun campground with a "discovery trail" that the kids could explore without spuervision. The men enjoyed fishing in the river and us ladies just enjoyed time to talk and play games. We also had a fun hike up to the hot springs (pictured above). If only there weren't large snakes everywhere!!

Happy 34th to me!

Okay! How sad is it when I have to "figure out" how old I am. Thanks for ALL my family and friends that showed so much love and support to me on my birthday. I felt so loved.

Happy 9th B-Day Aubrielle!

Aubrielle's B-Day was on Sunday but really it lasted for three days. Grandma Orme and her Aunts and Uncles wished her Happy Birthday on Saturday. Then on Sunday she had a big birthday breakfast and opened presents. (Aubrielle just wanted clothes, jewelry and shoes- does that mean she is old already?) After birthday dinner (in which she choose steak- not pizza), Grandpa and Grandma Hintze and the rest of the Hintze clan came over to have cheesecake (I think another sign of maturity... she didn't want a cake decorated by Dad.)

On Monday morning, Aubrielle went to Boondocks with me and then went swimming at Oakridge. That night we went to Golden Corral. (This is my kid's FAVORITE place in the world to have dinner.)

Braden loves getting his picture taken- can you tell? "Just Dance" was Aubrielle's favorite toy that she got. We have lots of dance parties at our house now.

Katelyn's Preschool Graduation

Katelyn's Preschool was fabulous and so was her graduation. They had speaking parts and sang songs and her teacher, Ms Alisha, also did a video of them with pictures that she took throughout the year. Katelyn has stated many, many times how much she LOVES preschool. E

Taylor's Blessing Day

Taylor was blessed by her Dad and it was a neat blessing. In Taylor's blessing, it said that she is a special person and has been blessed through all these experiences that she has gone through. In the blessing it stated that she has had angels watching over her. I know that we have been blessed by our Heavenly Father. Her life truly is a miracle and a blessing to us all.

Chris' Mission Convert from the Dominican Republic

Rafael came to visit Chris last conference with his son. This April conference, he came again with his daughters. We took them bowling...which was a great success. Our kids had so much fun and the group from the DR had never been bowling before and thought it was great. We also hiked up "This is the Place". This was NOT a success. We told them that it was a short, easy hike and our kids could easily do it. Well my kids did do it easily but it was also very muddy and windy. (If you remember, it snowed in SLC this weekend.) The cute sisters from DR didn't like hiking to begin with BUT now they had to ruin their new winter attire (there is no such thing as cold weather in the DR) and the elevation was a bugger for them. When they finally reached the top they were so sacred to be up this high with kids and wind that they wanted to go down immediately. Sorry!! I thought it was a good idea.

They also came to our house for dinner. They loved baby Taylor and also loved singing hymns on the piano. Thanks for a fun, memorable visit.

Braden's school play

Braden is so lucky- he got to be in a play. I always wanted to have that experience but never did. Braden's school did a wonderful play- Alice in Wonderland. Braden got to be a wolf that danced with a pig. They had amazing makeup, costume and backgrounds. Braden did a great job dancing, especially since he got his tonsils out the day before.

T&A on Spring Break?

Braden has always had large tonsils and when our neighbor had such success with their son and his surgery, Chris and I decided it was time for Braden to get them out. Much to Braden's surprise, he went to the ENT doctor on Tuesday to consult about removing them and the next morning was getting them out at LDS hospital. These are the happy, courageous before pictures.

The not so happy AFTER pictures. Braden was a little "annoyed" coming out of anesthesia. He wanted to get out of the recovery room as soon as he started to wake up. However, to his dismay, he had to wait for a same day surgery room to open up.

Braden had a successful surgery and the doctor said Braden's tonsils were some of the worst that he has seen- he even sent them to pathology. His recovery time went smooth and he was able to perform in his school play a day later.
